In this project, our client was Teen Ink, a magazine company who gears its writing towards teens and takes submissions of articles from teens. The problem they wanted us to address was that they were bewildered by Ray Bradbury's depiction of the Dystopian world overwhelmed and controlled by the media, and how similar it is to the world our readership is growing up with. They wanted us to solve this problem by reading the book Fahrenheit 451 and then writing an essay on how a certain type of media affects teens. I chose reality TV. In this project, I learned about having a good work ethic. To have work ethic is the demonstration of self discipline, the ability to map, plan, and generate a product; to be responsible to oneself and to others; and the constant, energetic application to study or work with the intention of achieving excellence. This project helped me learn about work ethic because I had to try to keep focus through the research even though it was boring and not everything I read was useful.
